Open Position - PROJECT MANAGER
Review civil and structural engineering drawings for new developments, ground up facilities, and interior renovation projects. Review calculations and design of structural foundations such as shallow foundations (continuous footings, pad footings, combination footings) and deep foundations (pile foundations, caissons) using the American Institute of Steel Construction manual to analyze roof member loads to size the foundation appropriately. Analyze and review calculations for wet and underground detention basins, storm water pipe design, and storm water structures such as weirs, inlet, and outlet structures and manage and coordinate with engineer design team to get final city approval. Review street and highway road designs on civil engineering drawings, review the design structures of the roads and subgrades to meet the city design criteria and analyze municipality codes and regulations to meet their design criteria. Manage and coordinate with engineer design team to get final city approval. Review and analyze structural steel components on structural drawings including analyzing roof loads such as dead load, live loads, snow loads, and wind loads and calculate structural steel component sizes for beams, roof joists, roof girders, and foundation steel in accordance with American Institute of Steel Construction Manual. Review refrigeration drawings for cold storage projects and analyze the design of the systems such as the design of the insulated metal panel systems to ensure a complete insulated and sealed refrigeration structure. Design and analyze construction of the refrigeration system using Glycol, Freon or Ammonia; includes managing and reviewing engineered shop drawings for final approval. Review and coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers in concert with the architectural and fire protection design to complete an approved set of drawings for construction in AutoCAD. Coordinate construction drawing approval process with the city engineering review team to obtain approval for construction regarding planning, zoning, and municipality approval. Analyze earthwork quantities needed for development including building pad, concrete or asphalt surfaces, detention ponds, and storm structures using Earthworks. Develop the scope of work, including value engineering, in cooperation with applicable codes and authorities having jurisdiction and manage the contracting process and selection of subcontractors; scope and means and methods review essential to long term success. Manage and oversee estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, engineering design review (code compliance, verification of means and methods), cost reporting, and safety. Manage bi-weekly job site meetings on site; assess construction and project issues, provide solutions and execute modifications to successful completion of projects. Coordinate and manage site conditions with the superintendent to ensure safety, quality control and schedule. Manage progress meetings with Owners and the construction team.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or closely related engineering field, plus 1 year of experience performing duties of position.
